The other involves the complete demolition of the Town Hall extension, and building two residential and retail blocks on either side of it, facing King Street and 18 metres apart. They would be identical and have a curving facade, making an open space opening out on to King Street and again allowing views through to the facade of the 1930s Town Hall. Both of these plans are an improvement on the proposals which last year caused such opposition and which were scrapped.
